2009 NQC interview on Gospel Music Today

My friends Ken and Jean Grady of Gospel Music Today have released the interview we shared at the 2009 National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY.

This interview also features Cheryl Edelmann of New Jersey and details about her new song and video. I was the vocal producer on her CD project featuring this song, "Hold On to the Miracle" as well as, sharing in the duet of the recording.

Last summer, Dustin Jenkins Nashville, our producer and record label, did a concept video of the song. Check out this interview, then follow up to Chelyl Edelmann Ministries and enjoy the song and video.

As a High School student in Columbiana, Ohio, Lynn Royce Taylor and friend, David Musselman, formed a singing duet they called the Gospel Chords.  From the beginning the Chords were singing nearly every weekend all over Ohio, PA, and West Virginia.  In a mere three years they had become a quartet, traveling the nation, performing concerts, TV, radio, and recordings.

The Chords continued their ministry for over twelve years. As members of the group were getting married and having children, it became more difficult to continue touring.  By this time Royce had two young boys of his own and a third soon to come.  In 1979, the group disbanded and members separated to do a variety of other ministries, vocations, and pursuits.  Most former Chords are still active in some form of music and ministry.

For about 10 years Royce wasn’t singing as his career but chose to work in industry, business and marketing while raising his young family.  The decade of the 80’s were filled with many changes, difficulties, and decisions.  No longer engaged in ministry, Royce tried to fulfill the emptiness in his life by focusing on business success, only doing occasional concerts.

One day, The Vogues from Pittsburgh were looking for a singer and contacted Royce.  In the 60s the original four members carved a niche in popular music that still sets a unique standard today.  Great songs like, “You Are My Special Angel, Turn Around Look at Me, Five O’clock World, You’re The One,” and many more were chart topping favorites.  He accepted their offer and toured as tenor vocalist for this group until 1997.  The music was fun, the fans were great, and the opportunities were many, but the calling of God was stronger.  There is nothing more satisfying than answering the call of God.  The desire to share the truth of God’s Word and the relevant message of the Bible was always at the forefront of Royce’s life.

2002 whisked him to Nashville, TN, and back into Gospel Quartet music with the Stamps Quartet, one of the backup quartets for Elvis Presley.  Several years later he toured briefly with the Blackwood Quartet and three years as tenor for the Toney Brothers.

Today
Lynn Royce Taylor is once again ministering as an Evangelist /Conference Speaker / soloist.  Although his ministry approach has historically been through music and concerts, the new decade is bringing a new emphasis on Ministry and Message.  To find out more, visit the related links to this ministry:

Without His relationship to Jesus the Christ, the only begotten son of the true and living God, all of his life would be in vain.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and life begins when you submit to God’s word and invite Jesus to be Lord.  The Word of God will never fail you in anything you face in life.  The Word of God will not only sustain you in the tough times, but it will shield you in future times.  It is relative to any time, with answers for all time.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever.

God has allowed Royce to take that message around the world as a singer of songs.  But now he believes it is time to place the focus on teaching that Word and building the people of God by showing the relevance of the Word of God in the current culture.

It’s time to remove the “religion” from Christianity to reveal the relationship between the Creator and His creation.  It’s become necessary to teach the origins of our Christian faith from the Bible to reveal why we do what we do, say what we say, are what we are and the importance of that to the whole world.  We must discover the authority and power available to all who will align with the way, the truth, and the life.

We do not replace the chosen people of God but we do join with them in the promise found in  Isaiah 60:1-3,  ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you--rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you.  And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. AMP

We are to be a light to the nations, a city set on a hill that can not be hidden, salt of the earth, demonstrating the authority that sets us apart from all religions, philosophies, and false gods.

1 Thessalonians 5:5 We are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. KJV

YOU ARE:
His Child to Deliver -- His Promise to Keep -- His Name to be Glorified
